Insecurity in South East: Our take on Police inspector General’s visit:

We would like to extend commendations to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph. D, NPM. for his insightful 2-day working visit to the Southeast region. His visit underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to enhancing security, building stronger community relationships, and ensuring a safer environment for all citizens. His presence on the ground signifies the importance of tailored, region-specific solutions to the insecurity issues affecting the area. The IGP’s proactive engagement with local leadership and security agencies is a positive step toward fostering peace and collaboration in the region.

Furthermore, this visit serves as a timely reminder of the need for continued attention to all parts of the country, including the Southeast. It is crucial that such visits, not only by the police leadership but also by the Presidency, become a regular feature. South-easterners, like every other Nigerian, are integral to the fabric of our nation, deserving of equal attention, resources, and developmental initiatives. We encourage further engagement from the Federal Government to foster unity, address regional concerns, and demonstrate that every region, irrespective of its historical or geographical context, is one and the same in the eyes of the nation.

Such visits promote a sense of belonging and national cohesion, which is essential for the continued progress and unity of our great country.
